Paris Tipping Guide
How much should you tip, and for which services?This is a tricky question when you first arrive in a new country. You don't
want to over tip and you don't want to be abused for not leaving enough! So here is a tipping guide for Paris to help you get started. All tip amounts are in euros.

Restaurants/Cafes

15% service charge is included in the bill and is noted on the menu as service
compris (SC). However, it's common to leave an additional .15 cents after
coffee, .50-1.00 after lunch, 1.50-3.50 after dinner. If you feel the dinner was extremely good and service was excellent, 10%
of the bill is more appropriate.

Taxi drivers

This really depends on whether or not you feel the taxi driver is already ripping you off! Taxis in Paris start their meter when you call them and it's not unusual for them to arrive at your
door with 10.00 -15.00 already on the meter. Only leave a tip if you experience excellent service.

Everybody and their brother seems to come knocking on your door in Paris at Christmas
